The spirit behind Nimrod
What a wonderful week last was! Your heartfelt enthusiasm has left us with a sweet taste in our music, it showed tonight, when we played our second gala concert of the season. Everything, from the opening piece to the two encores was filled with emotion and deep musicality from every member. As a tribute to you, we played Nimrod for our first encore, but that wasn't enough: the audience called for more! I cannot explain what playing with YPO meant for these youngsters. I am sure your orchestra feels the same.
I just hope our friendship lasts as long as music lives, and that the spirit behind Nimrod will unite our own spirits through music. We will do it as an encore every concert from now on this season. It is the least we can do to thank you, albeit at a distance, for the wonderful musical experience you provided us with.
