I listened to your TED talk for the first time some many months ago. After many years of wistful dreaming, on Christmas day, I received my first keyboard instrument.
I'm 28, and woefully along in my love of Chopin. No one seems to understand why I love it so much. Tonight I came home from a long day of work. I had committed myself to idle distraction for the evening, as is our wont to do as humans in the modern age. Suddenly I absolutely had to hear you play Prelude in E minor. I don't know why.
After writing this, I will sit down with my keyboard to learn. But for now, I have to write to you. You have opened doors for me that I did not know existed. Maybe I would have someday purchased a keyboard or piano. Maybe not. But this year, I absolutely had to have one as my dream of learning, and that fire within, was stoked red hot by hearing you speak on TED.com. While it's been only a short time since I have placed my hands on the keys, I know what it feels like to fall in love again.
Thank you.
